Message from the president |
My name is Aubrie Russo and I proudly hold the position of Panhellenic President at Sonoma State University for the 2018 term. I serve on the Executive Board with 7 other Panhellenic women and work with campus life advisors and all chapter delegates.
The Executive Board represents the six national sororities and two local sororities on campus, which are associate members. The Council not only works with these chapters but also the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), as well as other various campus groups and organizations. We value diversity, strong relationships, and strive to radiate a positive presence on our campus.
Panhellenic leaders represent our fellow Greek community with the highest ideals. Whether we are planning service projects, new member education programs, or setting new academic goals for our Panhellenic community, the SSU Panhellenic Executive Board is always working to support our Panhellenic sisters.
As President, I encourage you to take a look into what we stand for and all we strive to be. With a total membership reaching over 900 women, Panhellenic is a diverse campus organization that seeks to only grow stronger. Discrimination, of any form, is not something we stand for. We welcome women from all backgrounds. It is the true spirit of sisterhood that connects all Panhellenic women together, regardless of what chapter they are a member of.
While joining Panhellenic may seem to be an “extracurricular activity,” it truly pushes women to focus on scholarship. Greek men and women consistently have shown higher grade point averages than non-affiliated students.Panhellenic takes academic requirements seriously and assists members in reaching their academic goals. We maintain these standards by various programs and scholarships sponsored by each sorority and our Panhellenic Executive Board.
Greek life has forever enriched my life and has made me the best version of myself. The choice I made to go Greek has been the highlight of my college experience and something I will be able to hold on to beyond my four years. The opportunities I have received and the life-long friendships I have developed are more than I could have ever expected. I am both humbled and proud to call myself a sorority woman. My hope is you too will explore all Greek Life at SSU may have to offer you.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding Panhellenic.
