ALPHA GAMMA DELTA
It was a long summer away from our sisters, but we’ve had some exciting vacations with sisters and individually. Our President Daisy, Vice President Member Experience Alina, Director of Ritual Rachel, Vice President Community Affairs McKenna, and our Vice President New Member Experience Giulie attended the Alpha Gamma Delta National Convention in San Antonio, Texas In July. At this convention we received two awards recognizing our accomplishments in how much money we continually donate to the foundation. Coming back to school in August and having recruitment has gotten us back into the swing of things and strengthened our sisterhood as we welcome our Fall ’18 new member class. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the semester has to hold! ALPHA DELTA PI Alpha Delta Pi has had a busy summer, but we are so excited to be back at school with our new Alphas! Over the summer we had sisters visit Italy, Greece, Spain, Mexico, and many more countries. Sisters held jobs, volunteer positions, and even made time to meet up with other sisters, both in college and recent graduates! We are so excited for the upcoming semester, especially since we were able to welcome home our new Alpha Class over Labor Day Weekend. We have so many exciting sisterhoods planned, and two upcoming formals! We're looking forward to seeing what the next few months have in store for us! GAMMA PHI BETA Fall semester is my favorite because there are so many different events happening not only in Greek life but on campus as well. Our chapter is excited to welcome our new members after recruitment with our pool day retreat in September. We’re also looking forward to our annual Moonball tournament in October, as well our new event Luna Fest for the organization Girls on the Run. LAMBDA KAPPA PI Over the summer, the women of Lambda Kappa Pi went to infinity and beyond. Some went overseas to Europe and Asia, while others went down south to visit a graduated sister. Others stayed home and enjoyed time with family and friends. Even though we were many miles apart we could still feel the love radiating from each sister no matter where they were. Back to where it all began, sisters tabled at orientations to spread our love to the incoming freshman. You never know where you are going to meet a future sister. Even though summer is at a close, we are all happy to be back. Together once again to raise each other up to become our best selves and to help women find their new home with us. PHI SIGMA SIGMA In the month of August , our sisters had came together during the first weekend of the school year for primary recruitment practice. Primary recruitment has not only challenged our limits but has proven to us that with the help of other sisters, some great laughs, constant repetition, and the assistance of our amazing advisors, we were able to reduce some of the stress of not knowing. Every practice session consisted of learning chants, the right posture, the right attitude, presentation, and conversations. By the end of each practice, not only did everyone learn and do things differently, but overall were able to manage the student life. That is, we still managed to enjoy the little things that life has to offer, such as our sisterhoods of taking the time to head out to taylor mountain for a quick exercise and a photoshoot along with a wednesday night out to the market. But once our recruitment rehearsal days were over, reality came into play on the first day of primary recruitment. Everyone has been waiting to meet our new and future sisters that will carry on our chapter for many years to come here at Sonoma State. The doors open and so it begins! Throughout recruitment, and meeting these girls, many were happy to attend our parties, loved our loving and honest personalities, and comfortable welcomings. Our sorority's image from these comments has given Phi Sigma Sigma sisters reasons to continue to keep being themselves, to keep the good work, and feel appreciated. By the end of primary recruitment, we had the joy of bid day. The time of day where we finally meet the new sisters whom we have invited to our chapter to help build the walls of our pyramid. During reveal, we have been given some great sisters back that helped with women who were going through the recruitment process. Overall, we are happy to say that we have been able to receive forty-three new sisters to our chapter!
