ALPHA GAMMA DELTA
April has been quite the month for us! Most recently in the month, our chapter drove down to San Francisco to join our Chico and San Francisco sisters for brunch, exchanging stories, achievements, and projects that our chapters have been working on. We’ve had many different sisterhoods this month such as a hike to embrace health and vigor of body, a coffee date to study with sisters, and a lobo’s sisterhood to hang out in between classes! We also had our recruitment training this month to help strengthen our morals and values before we go into recruitment in the fall. Our new lip jam coordinators were elected and will be revealed soon!
ALPHA DELTA PI
Alpha Delta Pi has had a fantastic month! We hosted an ADPi alumna, Mary Simeoli, who came to talk to the campus about “Mean Girls,” and how we can combat the stereotypes that come along with being women, as well as how we can recognize when we ourselves are being less kind! We also had a wonderful sisterhood with our ADPi sisters at UC Berkeley, where we watched a baseball game and were able to tour their beautiful house. It was so fun to connect with sisters at other schools and have fun in the great weather! We held our annual Parent’s Day and Scholarship Brunch where we able to show our parents just exactly what we do, and share our philanthropy for the Ronald McDonald House with them! We had great sisterhood events as well, with weekly sisterhood lunches on campus, bowling after meeting, and a trip to Dillon Beach! Lastly, we strengthened our bonds with other Panhellenic sororities, by volunteering at the Human Race with Alpha Xi Delta to give back to Sonoma County together! We are so excited to see what May has in store for us, but we’re getting sad that we will have to leave our sisters over the summer!
ALPHA XI DELTA
April was a month jam packed with activities for the ladies of Alpha Xi Delta! At the start of the month we kicked it off with our Spring Retreat where we had a weekend full of bonding, sisterhood, and even started the sad goodbyes to our seniors. We were lucky enough to be invited to an Autism Speaks Walk put on by our sisters in the San Jose chapter. Some of us were able to drive out and walk with our sisters for an amazing cause. We had our Founders Day Brunch to celebrate when Alpha Xi Delta was founded as an organization and even had a few of our alumni join us. Our Family Day and philanthropy event Step It Up happened to be on the same weekend so we were able to share our event with our friends and family who helped us raise $1,954 to help spread awareness for those with autism! To end our month we had an amazing mixer with Alpha Delta Pi setting up for The Human Race which is the largest fundraising event in Sonoma County that helps raise money for 100 nonprofits.
ALPHA OMICRON PI
April has been such a wonderful month for Alpha Omicron Pi! This month has been filled with so many sisterhoods including Ooh Lu Luxe, Chick Fila, and even study buddy sessions in the library! We were so excited to finally initiate our six new spring members as our chapter grows the stronger our sisterhood becomes. On top of all of the hard work our chapter has put into this month we brought our very first speaker to campus, Dr. Lori Hart. She was a former member of Alpha Omicron Pi who came to speak to our campus about alcohol awareness it was a very informative talk and we were so happy to have her. With finals and summer quickly approaching all of our sisters and preparing for summer internships and jobs. Sadly we are never ready to leave each other for the summer but looking forward to recruitment is our motivation!
GAMMA PHI BETA
This past April Gamma Phi Beta had a lot of events that strengthened our sisterhood. We had an Overnight Retreat in cabins that included different bonding activities. We also went on a hike together and took a lot of cute pictures with our sisters. Another big event this month was our Spring Formal which took place in Tomales. We got to dance the night away and eat pizza in an old rustic barn with our sisters and different Greek life and non Greek life friends. Our Philanthropy event, Girls on the Run, was at the end of the month and was super successful. Our chapter worked the water tables and the celebration tables to build the girls up before they ran in their 5k. Working together at this event definitely helped our sisters create memories and deepen our bond.
KAPPA DELTA ZETA
During the month of April, we continued strengthening our bonds within our chapter and around campus. Our Public Relations Vice President, Mara Patino, planned and executed the Kappa Confidence Campaign and it was wildly successful. We got to know the Men’s Soccer team and had lots of fun! Additionally, we welcomed our parents and family members to Sonoma County for our Family Day BBQ, as well as hosted our Annual Sorori-tea Party! Lastly, welcomed in twelve new members into our organization as they completed their pledge process, we are thrilled to call them active members as they proudly wear our letters that they earned!
LAMBDA KAPPA PI
Lambda Kappa Pi had such an eventful month! On April 8th, we held a Car Show on campus. Cars 4 a Cure was very successful and we are happy that the community came out and supported. From this event we raised over 1,500 dollars for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! We had a blast playing capture the flag with the Sonoma State Rugby team. Through this game we were able to build stronger connections with the team and build a stronger community. We also teamed up with Love Your Melon to hold an event called Mixed Match. This event showcased a documentary about living with blood cancers as well as the process of being a bone marrow donor. Co-hosting this event was a great experience because not only did we bring awareness about blood cancers, it also gave us an opportunity to more fully understand what we as a sorority stands for and how important it is to keep up this advocacy.
PHI SIGMA SIGMA
April has been an exciting month for Phi Sigma Sigma. Our sisters enjoyed attending Kappa Confidence, Alpha Delta Pi’s “Mean Girls,” as well as the other chapter’s philanthropy events. Our chapter also held our annual dodgeball philanthropy to raise money to donate to the Kids in Need Foundation and our sister Paulette’s family. Phi Sigma Sigma traveled to both San Jose to attend the Sharks hockey game and San Francisco for our spring retreat. In the middle of the month, we welcomed nine new members into our pyramid during initiation. At the end of April, we were able to show our families our love for our chapter during our Parent’s day brunch!
