Scholarship
Fraternity & Sorority men and women strive for excellence in academics. Many organizations have study hours, mentors, and other programming to enhance their member’s academic performance. Many organizations also offer scholarships and recognition awards for academic excellence. As a result of these efforts, many chapters have a grade point average above that of their peers.
Scholarship is an integral part of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community. Members strive to succeed in attaining academic excellence with the support of their fellow brothers and sisters. Students who are involved in Fraternity & Sorority Life consistently achieve higher GPA's than non-Fraternity & Sorority Life students. Organizations are also currently implementing individual academic plans to help their members succeed.

Community Service
Every Fraternity & Sorority at Sonoma State participates in philanthropy and community service projects throughout the area. Each year, Greek students raise an enormous amount of money for national charities. The organizations also work closely and provide community service hours for local organizations.
Campus Involvement
Greek membership can help make the transition to college life easier and more enjoyable for students. Fraternity & Sorority organizations offer a support system to students through its camaraderie and opportunities for involvement. - Fraternity & Sorority chapters are managed and led by their elected executive boards, chairpersons, and committees comprised of members from the undergraduate student body.
- The National Headquarters of our Fraternity & Sorority chapters sponsor annual leadership conferences that are held regionally and nationally for their membership.
- Leading the Greek governing councils (IFC, Panhellenic, and MGC) is another leadership position students can obtain. These positions work together to manage the organizations that fall within their council, while working to unite the entire Greek community with the greater student body.

- Greek alumni give more money to their alma maters, both more often and in greater quantity than non-Greek alumni. They are also deemed to be more connected to their alma maters than non-Greek alumni.
- Greek students are more active on campus and in community activities. Upon graduation, these members are also more likely to get involved in volunteer and charitable activities.
